David Acer is a Gemini award-nominated writer, comedian and close-up magician who has done crazy things on dozens of television shows around the world, like dressing up as a giant penny and inviting people to lay down on a train track to see how it feels, and putting a mixed-up Rubik’s Cube in his fly during an interview on an afternoon talkshow, working his hips for a few seconds, then removing a fully solved cube. He has also appeared on A&Es Comedy on the Road, BBCs The Secret World of Magic, NHK Japans FISM 2000, CTVs Comedy Now, Discoverys Grand Illusions, MuchMusics As Prime Minister Awards, ABCs America’s Funniest People, and the list goes on. PLUS he has authored three books of original close-up magic, written for several award-winning television shows, appeared 10 times at the Just For Laughs comedy festival in Montreal, and he is currently the co-host and co-writer of Discovery Kids hit series, Mystery Hunters, which has garnered him two Gemini nominations (the Canadian equivalent of the Emmys) and a spin-off book deal with Kids Can Press.
